Mrs. Abigail Gregory died at her home in Garden City. Kansas, this week. Through a mistake of the physician she was given a dose of a deadly drug which resulted in her death. She was the widow of the late Samuel Gregory, who at one time was a prominent citizen of this county. She was also a sister of Reeves McGilliard, of this city. -- transcribed by Kim H

The Journal was in error yesterday in making the statement that Mrs. Abigail Gregory was dead. The facts in connection with her serious illness were as stated, though at last accounts, she was still living.

J. A. McClure received a telegram announcing the death of Abigail Gregory at Garden City, Kansas. The funeral will occur Thursday morning at Thorntown.

The coroner’s jury, which held an inquest on the body of Mrs. Abigail Gregory, whose death was announced in The Journal a few days ago, which occurred at Garden City, Kan., returned a verdict that she came to her death by corrosive sublimate administered under the direction of Dr. Mary Cartwright through criminal carelessness resulting from ignorance.
